GenomeSpace Website offline Oct 17-20

Due to server maintenance at the Broad Institute, the GenomeSpace website(www.genomespace.org) will be unavailable from Thursday Oct 17 through Saturday October 20th 2013.  During this time we expect that the GenomeSpace user interface will remain available though some tools hosted at the Broad Institue will not be.

Summary of expected outages:

  • This site (www.genomespace.org)
  • The GenomeSpace Recipes and help links in the GenomeSpace user interface
  • GenePattern
  • IGV
  • MSigDB tools

GenomeSpace will be featured at a number of events at ISMB 2013 in Berlin, July 19 - 22:

  • Technology Track presentation, Monday, July 21, 2:10 in Hall 10. Hear about the new developments in GenomeSpace, including support for more cloud-based storage systems, new tools added to the GenomeSpace community, and new recipes for creating powerful integrative analyses using GenomeSpace-enabled tools.

  • View the GenomeSpace poster, number B26, at the poster session on Tuesday, July 23, from 12:25 p.m. to 2:10 p.m.

GenomeSpace at BOSC-Broad Interoperability Hackathon

GenomeSpace will be one of the featured tools at the BOSC/Broad interoperability hackathon on Sunday and Monday, April 7 and 8 at the Broad Institute. It occurs just prior to Bio-IT World in Boston and is a warm up event for BOSC 2013 occurring July 19-20th in Berlin. The goal of the hackathon will be developing open source tools to help enhance bioinformatics interoperability. See http://www.broadinstitute.org/events/interoperability-hackathon-2013/home for more information as the event approaches.

GenomeSpace at the 9th annual Cytoscape Workshop

GenomeSpace will be presenting at the 9th annual Cytoscape workshop at the Gladstone Institute in San Francisco on December 14th during the "Cytoscape Plugin and App Expo" section on Friday afternoon.

GenomeSpace moved to GenePattern's production servers

We have transitioned the GenePattern instance used by GenomeSpace to the main GenePattern server at http://genepattern.broadinstitute.org/gp effective immediately.  Up to now GenomeSpace has been pointed to a test instance at http://gpami.broadinstitute.org:8080/gp/. We recommend that you save your data from the GenePattern Test server to GenomeSpace by logging in directly from this link.

On the public GenePattern server you will need to associate your GenomeSpace credentials to your public GenePattern account or create a new Genepattern account if you do not already have one on that server.

Data left on the GenePattern test server after this time will be subject to Genepattern's default retention policy (expiration after 10 calendar days) and will remain available for a short time at the test URL, though this will not be launchable from GenomeSpace.

GenomeSpace at FGED

GenomeSpace will be featured in a talk on "Integrative Genomics Tools" at the FGED 13 meeting in Toronto on Tuesday, October 23. Hear the update on new GenomeSpace functionality and tools: http://www.microarrays.ca/fged/
